Adult Classes (18 +)

Whether you are crossing off a “bucket list” item, "used to dance” a long time ago, or just love to move - come dance with us!

Adult class cost: $18/class or pre-purchase 5 classes for $80 ($16/class). Class cards available from teacher at class time.

What to wear: Any fitted, danceable clothes - wear what you would wear to work out! Tap shoes are required for tap class, ballet slippers for ballet class. Socks or bare feet for modern and Pilates! Dance shoes available at Petit Jeté Dance Boutique in Brunswick. Contact Us with questions! See 2024-2025 Schedule for important session dates.

Note: Adult Classes are on a drop-in basis, and at this time there is no need to pre-register.

Class Descriptions:

Adult Ballet (Beginner) - Saturdays 10:00 - 11:00 am ** NO CLASS ON SAT, OCT 12**
This class is recommended for adult students little to no previous experience, or for students who want a slower class with more technical breakdowns Students will be introduced to the basic movement vocabulary of ballet via the traditional format of barre, center, and across the floor technique. Please review our Health and Safety page before arrival.

Adult Ballet (Intermediate) - Thursdays 7:30 - 8:30 pm ** NO CLASS ON THURS, OCT 10**
This class is recommended for adult students with some previous experience. Class will follow the traditional format of barre, center, and across the floor technique. Students will apply fundamental anatomical principles to improve their technique and refine their artistry as they enjoy the beauty and precision of classical ballet. Please review our Health and Safety page before arrival. Please note day change from previous sessions!


Mat Pilates - Tuesdays 9:15 am - 10:15 am
This 5-week Pilates mat class is a full body low impact class focusing on core strength and muscular balance. The class will follow the basic mat format started by Joseph Pilates while incorporating exercises to help bring awareness to breathing and alignment. Please bring your own mat and a small towel. 


Adult Tap (Beginner) - Fridays 6:00 - 7:00 pm ** NO CLASS ON FRI, DEC 6**
Geared to meet the learner "where they're at", this tap class will focus on teaching solid technical basics and rhythms and build upon those basics to teach classic repertoire combined with more modern, stylized tap styles. Whether you are a beginner wanting to check off your bucket list, or returning to tap after a long hiatus, you'll be making beautiful music in no time!

Adult Tap (Intermediate) - Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:00 pm
This class is geared toward adults who have a grasp on the fundamentals of tap and are ready to work toward building combinations and fine tuning their technical and improvisational skills. Class will build in difficulty as the year progresses, starting at an advanced beginner pace in the fall. Please review our Health and Safety page before arrival. Adult Modern (Beginner) - Saturdays 11:30 am - 12:30pm ** NO CLASS ON SAT, DEC 14**
An introduction to modern dance for the adult beginner! Dancers will be guided through exercises on the floor and standing, as well as phrase work & techniques for improvisation. Students will gain an understanding of anatomical principles, increase their ability to execute movement phrases, & learn to take creative risks in a supportive environment.
